Product description

Inspired by our perennially popular Kojima Work Jacket, this limited run, made in Japan green version carries forward the spirit of Japanese workwear, just without the denim.

Designed with practicality in mind, the deep, lined pockets could hold any number of hand tools, snacks, balls of string, onigiri and notebooks.

The loose and slightly cropped sleeves are ready to be rolled up for when you need to get stuck in, and the kimono-style collar and slightly boxy, relaxed shape will keep you looking cool and comfortable.

A Hanko label on the collar let’s everyone know you’re a garden guy/gal, and it’s just a shade longer at the back, to preserve your modesty when bending or sitting.

Button it up over a white t-shirt for a clean and considered look, or let it flap about for a more relaxed approach. And if you’re after even more pockets (or an extra layer), pair it with the Niwaki Garden Waistcoat.

From the same stable as our Niwaki Engei Trousers, worn together they make an fine alternative to coveralls/boilersuits, or pair them with smart shoes (black, we reckon) and you could probably get away with them as a bohemian alternative to a suit (if you can keep it clean enough).

Best usage

No jacket is truly yours until it’s been worn in a little – but if you want it to last, a few simple do’s and don’ts apply.

It’s made from 100% cotton, so avoid high heat and harsh chemicals. Wash separately or with similar colours for the first time, and turn it inside out to reduce abrasion with the machine. Hang it up when not in use, and give it a gentle iron to ease out any creases.
