Visiting Masashi Kobo

It's always a treat to visit Masashi's workshop in Sanjo - this time round he demonstrated handle fitting and engraving, and we discussed various knifey matters, as well as quaffing vast amounts of mugicha (cold barley tea). He's working on a new set of professional Japanese chef's knives for us - deba, myoroshi and usuba - but we have to wait until next year...
