Described by Monty Don as one of his five favourite gardening tools in the Telegraph
Drop forged, deep in the mountains of Yamagata, from amazing high carbon steel, these secateurs combine a beautifully refined balance with a smooth, razor-sharp cut. The face of the cutting blade is slightly hollow ground to reduce friction in the cutting action, giving a cleaner, easier cut. These babies are bashed out of one piece of top quality Yasuki steel, from blade to handle, and combine the shape of the traditional A-Type with more modern production techniques, resulting in a light and balanced but strong pair of secateurs that are confortable to use all day long.
- Yasuki YCS-3 Carbon Steel
- 8" long (20cm)
- Chunky catch at bottom
- Red and yellow vinyl handles show up in the garden - peel them off if you prefer the more traditional look
- Sharpen with our Gouken Stones
Niwaki Tip: Amazing quality steel that holds its edge well - but not for mad hacking and certainly not for opening paint tins...
