Cedar Bark Tape

Product description
5m roll of Cryptomeria cedar bark shingles, threaded together, for wrapping and protecting tree trunks, and disguising ugly posts and pillars that may need camouflaging.
If you’ve never encountered Cryptomeria japonica (called sugi in Japan) before, they’re tall conifers, not unlike the North American giant and coastal redwoods. Really very lovely trees.
Best usage
Cedar wrapping is a traditional horticultural method in Japan for protecting young or thin-barked trees from temperature fluctuations and pests. It also offers a rustic aesthetic that can be used to disguise unsightly exteriors. You could also use it to protect young trees from over-zealous strimming.
Begin by wrapping the tape around the base of the tree, and continue upwards at an angle until you reach the lowest set of branches. Cut the tape to length and secure the end. Don’t use twine, ties, or wire to secure the wrapping as this can girdle the bark.
