Masamune Shears
Japanese Shears
New from Masamune are these lovely shears, ideal for box clipping, topiary and other delicate jobs. Long blades (9 1/2", 24 cm) and slender handles give great balance for detailed work, and the blue paper steel is - and stays - lethally sharp.
As with all Japanese shears, simplicity is the key: wood, steel, a few rivets. That's it.
If you do a lot of clipping (not hacking) you'll love the feel of these, but they are not recommended for hedge work.
Tip: When clipping box or yew, keep a bucket of water handy, mixed with a dash (5%, no more) of bleach. Dunk the clippers in every so often, and it stops the leaf resin from cloging up the blades. The bleach prevents the spreading of nasty viruses between plants.
Long: (32") 1000g
