Knitted in Scotland from ultra-soft brushed lambswool, this classic crewneck is based on YMC’s Women’s Jets Jumper, with a relaxed fit and a slightly shorter length through the body compared with the men’s version.
The cosiest piece in the YMC x Niwaki collection, choose between ‘pine shadow’– a rich green that brings to mind mossy forest floors – or ‘ballerina pink’ – that, of course, brings to mind a bubblegum-chewing flamingo in an arabesque pose.
What makes these jumpers so special? The seam-free construction is significant, keeping the shape clean and uncomplicated. The ribbed neck, cuffs and hem are just the right weight and springiness. The brushed wool is soft and luxuriously fluffy, naturally water-repellent and anti-bacterial – so much so that you rarely need to wash them. And to top it all, they’re crafted by Scottish knitwear experts in the timeless style first popularised by Ivy-style aficionados. Put simply: classics with a YMC / Niwaki twist.
Best usage
Lambswool is pretty good at looking after itself, so try to avoid washing it too often – a good airing will usually suffice.
When the time does come, hand wash in cold water only and, whatever you do, don’t wring or twist it. Soak for 10–20 minutes, rinse, then gently reshape and dry flat.
