Product description
Double-edged carpenters pull saw with traditional bamboo-wrapped wooden handle for a comfortable and secure grip. Combining the functionality of two saws in one – it features fine teeth for cross cuts and large teeth for rip cuts.
The blade can be replaced when worn or damaged – adding to the longevity of this much-loved product.
Best usage
Goes without saying that Ryoba saws cut on the pull.
Ideal for joinery work like dovetails and tenons, as well as general woodworking projects. The thin, flexible blade allows for precise, narrow cuts, while the pull-stroke motion gives more control with less effort.
That said, a good technique is vital to avoid damage (and mistakes).
- Hold the saw with your index finger along the side of the blade, supporting the handle with your remaining fingers.
- Start with a gentle, short stroke to engage the wood.
- Pull smoothly and glide back lightly on the way back. Don’t direct or twist the blade – this can cause breakage or wandering cuts.
- Avoid cutting deeper than one-third of the blade length at a time to prevent binding.
- Keep the blade flat against the wood to maintain accuracy.
