Product description
Cracking little teapot crafted from double layered stainless steel, just right for a cup of genmaicha* or whatever it is you’re drinking these days. 350ml is the right size for two good cups of your preferred hot infused beverage.
Comes with an infuser, bamboo handle and a wooden knob on the lid. A miniature modern masterpiece of subtle design.
*green tea with roasted rice grains, some of which have popped, looking like popcorn.
Best usage
Perfect for making tea. Ideally Genmaicha (available online and from most specialist tea shops), but if that’s not to your liking – a classic brew will do just fine.
Everyone has their own rituals when it comes to making tea, but here are a few pointers for doing it the Niwaki way:
1. Preheat the teapot with hot water to help maintain the brewing temperature.
2. Add tea leaves to the infuser. One teaspoon per cup of hot water is recommended – but if you like it stronger, go wild!
3. Pour hot water over the tea leaves. Make sure it’s the right temperature for the type of tea you’re using. Allow it to brew for the recommended time.
4. Carefully remove the infuser.
5. Pour the tea into your favourite mug. Find a quiet spot and enjoy!
6. Repeat as needed until your inner peace is restored.
7. Wash the teapot gently with dish soap and a soft sponge (abrasive ones may damage the surface). Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth to avoid water spots and rust.
