These are what we use to sharpen absolutely everything: secateurs, shears, clippers, household scissors, kitchen knives...everything. They're foolproof, quick and clean (no messy oil needed). Run the corner edge of the carbon block along the bevelled edge of your blade, four or five times, and then once on the inside (for single bevelled blades) to remove any burr, or four or five more times for double bevelled blades. Easy as that.
The new Duplex model has the carbon sharpener at one end, and at the other a file for grinding out chinks in old blades- so now you can revive old shears and keep them sharp for the future. Brilliant.
