Bet you never knew Ringo was into fruit pruning as well as drumming?*
It's a gomtaro, but not as you know it: thinner blade and graduated teeth that get bigger nearer the handle, allowing for accurate, efficient cutting that won't damage your apple trees. Start off slow and careful at the tip, and then as you get speed up work through the whole length of the blade. Just what you need for thinning out old trees, as well as more regular maintenance work.
30 cm (12") blade and a very smart wooden scabbard.
Remember: cut on the pull.
